About the Eagles
Scott and Sharon FerlingereEach of the Ferlingere’s Eagle sculptures is unique, and because of this, each distinctive creation is an exclusive one-of-a-kind process. Lovingly crafted from materials which are 100% natural and locally gathered by the artists, each eagle is shipped with a copper identification band securely riveted around one leg, including a serial number and signature. Each bill of sale also includes an original certificate of authenticity signed by Scott and Sharon. The eagles are all life-sized or larger, depending upon the intended means of display.

Until now, most of the eagles have been created on a commission basis and have been sold works prior to completion. Commissions are still welcome; however, a limited number of finished pieces which capture the artists’ personal inspirations are now available for immediate purchase. See the individual listings for a detailed description of each offering. Typical examples, based upon previous works within the Spirit Series, have been constructed from amalgamations of willow, dogwood, grapevines, pampas grass, thistle, and milkweed silk. The hues of tan, and various shades of umber displayed in the feathers were created using alcohol-based dyes applied to the grasses. The white feathers covering the heads of Bald Eagles are created from milkweed silk. Fashioned almost entirely from plant life, metal nails are covered with epoxy and sculpting clay to form the talons and beak, with a jalapeno pepper used to represent the eagle’s tongue. Glass eyes stare intently for potential prey. Sharon working on an eagle
Please visit our current inventory or contact us if you have an interest in the commission of new sculpture. Shipping is available to the United States and Canada and is included in the price of the artwork. Whether it is a perched Eagle or a bird with fully extended wingspan, each piece is carefully packed and shipped via the most appropriate option. In the event of damage in transit, the artists stand in support of the finished piece and will make the necessary repairs. In the instance of feathers, which are particularly fragile, should any breakage occur, the fiber of the feathers is grass and easily repaired by the owner. All sculptures mount and dismount from their bases for shipping and set up.
